Canon Mp640 Scanner Software Mac

When trying to add the MP640 scanner via System Prefs / New Printer I cannot see the Bonjour scanner anymore. The 'canonijnetwork' printer shows up as normal. Until recently I´ve used the standard Canon software package for both printing and scanning but Image Capture does the job a whole lot better so I wanted to get rid of all the Canon stuff.
I know the Bonjour service on the MP640 is enabled and setup correct. Tried both with its default settings and custom name for the service. However, it will not show up on any of my Macs, both with Canon drivers installed and no drivers present. I´ve also tried running a Bonjour scan via iStumbler which finds all the other Bonjour services on my network, but not the MP640.
I find it hard to believe that the Bonjour service is the only thing not working on the printer/scanner..
Anyone else with similar problems? Solutions? :/
